Spanish insurer continued its trend of improved revenues and profitability

SPANISH insurance group Mapfre has shown tremendous growth in revenue and profitability for several years and 2010 saw no interruption to the company’s progress. Net profit was up 0.7% at €933.5m ($1.34bn) and net premiums climbed 8.7% to €20.34bn. Shareholders’ funds stood at €6.54bn at December 31, up 6.1% over the year and up 62.5% from four years previously.
