BUPA BUYS AMEDEX IN US, IHI IN DENMARK

UK health insurer Bupa has bought US-based AMEDEX Insurance, which serves 100,000 people in 42 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. Bupa has also bought International Health Insurance Denmark (IHI), which serves 240,000 customers through individual and group business in more than 190 countries. Dean Holden, managing director of Bupa’s international business, said that the purchases would give his company “a market-leading position in the Latin American market and create a strong platform for further growth for our expatriate health insurance business”.
