Settlement of £4mn for deaf woman

A woman who was left severely deaf after problems during her birth has won a settlement of more than £4mn. She suffered 17 hours of fetal distress, during which time she experienced meconium aspiration. Meconium is the baby’s faeces which can be passed into amniotic fluid the baby can then inhale, or aspirate meconium during labour.
