Hiscox research on US hospital liability losses

The frequency of large US hospital liability losses of $5mn or above has risen over the last ten 10 years and is set to increase further in the next three years, according to industry research by Hiscox. With large losses making up around 0.25% of the insurance industry’s US hospital liability losses in 2000, that figure has risen to 0.7% currently and is set to increase to 1% by 2013, Hiscox said.
