£1mn in damages for foot injuries

A man who sustained severe injuries, including the loss of four toes, after being run over by an articulated lorry, has received £1mn in damages. The man, whose career was ended as a result of his injuries, had pulled over to assist a fellow motorist who was blocking traffic after breaking down. While helping to push the broken-down vehicle off the road, an articulated lorry attempted to drive through a gap behind the claimant, but instead drove over the man’s right foot.
