Taking advantage of the MLRO
The advent season may be one of joyful anticipation but Edward Jones, MLRO and his team must gift-wrap their internal anti-bribery procedures before they can join the festivities. Sue Grossey reports on the Yuletide preparations.

Edward stared gloomily at the purple tinsel that his Deputy MLRO Liz had looped festively around his computer screen. One
of its dangling ends partly obscured his email inbox, but even through the glitter he could see three more adverts for forthcoming
conferences, seminars, webinars, podcasts, briefings and shindigs concerning the
Bribery Act. By his calculation, that made eleven such invitations this week alone. He sighed deeply and turned in his chair to look
out of the window at the fading light – a metaphor if ever there was one, he reflected. His office door opened, and Liz came
in.
