£5.6mn compensation for brain damage

A man who suffered brain damage as a result of an accident seven years ago has been awarded compensation of £5.6mn. He was hit by a motorbike as he crossed the road. As a result of the force of the impact, he sustained a shattered left leg below the knee, which had to be amputated. Complications following the operation resulted in brain damage and blindness. Some of the damages will be paid in the form of a lump sum, while the rest will be paid in annual instalments.
