Out of hours birth death more likely

New research has found that those born outside the normal nine to five, Monday to Friday, working hours were more likely to die. Researchers from Cambridge University found that the principle cause of death in these infants was hypoxia (lack of oxygen) which can be due to a lack of senior clinical staff to spot the problem and react quickly.
