Third of injured had no health and safety induction

A telephone survey of 121 claimants who had suffered accidents or injuries at work, has found that 42 respondents, around 35%, had not been given a health and safety induction when they joined their workplace. Karl Tonks, a partner with Fentons Solicitors and a specialist in accident at work claims, said, ‘These results clearly highlight the importance of mandatory health and safety inductions for all new joiners. Some organisations are evidently still struggling to recognise the responsibility they have for the safety of their staff.’
