£250,000 damages for Libyan RTA
A couple who were involved in a road traffic accident whilst on holiday in Libya have been awarded damages of just under £250,000.
As a part of the holiday they took part in a ‘Desert Safari’, in which they were driving over sand-dunes. Whilst driving over
a dune they were involved in a road traffic accident when the car turned over resulting in severe injuries for both people.
One suffered a fracture to the cervical spine, and the other received an undisplaced fracture to the lumber spine. Both made
excellent recoveries and have now returned to work. The couple made a claim to the travel company under the terms of the package
tour regulations
