Compensation of £80,000 for asbestosis

The family of a former scaffolder who died from asbestosis have received compensation of just under £80,000. He had been exposed to asbestos whilst working as a scaffolder at Thurrock Power Station in the early to late 1960s. The claim was technically ‘out of time’ but his lawyers asked the court to allow the claim to proceed even though it was 10 years’ too late.
