£30,000 out of court settlement for leg injury

A scaffolder who needed surgery after a 300 kilo weight fell on his leg has received £30,000 compensation in an out of court settlement. He was trapped under the heavy metal block when it fell onto his ankle while he was working at Felixstowe Docks. Three men were needed to lift the block which broke his leg at the ankle. He was forced to take more than nine months off work and had to undergo intensive physiotherapy to enable him to walk again. He has been able to return to his job as a scaffolder.
