Lower back injury compensation

A man who sustained a soft tissue injury to the lower back in an accident at work has received an out of court settlement of £21,000. He was holding an Allen key in his right hand to remove the steel plate from an EVG Polybend Machine. The key slipped from the plate and cut hiss right eye causing him to stagger backwards into a bench behind him. The work equipment that was used by him on the day of the accident was unsuitable and inadequate. Due to the back problem, he had to retire on grounds of ill health.
