Primary school teachers and mental health problems

A quarter of primary school teachers suffer mental health problems after dealing with disruptive pupils according to a survey conducted by the Association of Teachers and Lecturers (ATL). The survey was carried out for ITV1’s Tonight programme, and the results ‘paint a challenging picture of classroom life for teachers in UK primary schools with many suffering loss of confidence, stress, and even physical harm because of disruptive pupils,’ said the ATL.
