RYAN TO CHAIR NEW MISSOURI AGENCY

Patrick Ryan, the founder and retired chairman of global broker Aon, is backing ThinkRisk Underwriting Agency, a new Kansas City, Missouri-based managing general underwriter that intends to focus on errors & emissions cover. Mr Ryan will serve as chairman. ThinkRisk, which plans to open its doors in February, will write business on behalf of Ohio-based Great American Insurance Group. ThinkRisk founders Chad Milton, Leib Dodell and Debra McClenehan will be in charge of day-to-day operations. Mr Milton had previously been national practice leader in media and intellectual property at Marsh. Mr Dodell had been CEO of the media/professional division at Aon, while Ms McClenahan had been chief administration officer at Aon Re Americas. Mr Ryan said that his investment "reflects what I see as a real need to manage modern liability changes".
