Insurance and reinsurance company results, first half 2009

Figures from the international insurance and reinsurance industry for the first six months of the year show that most companies recorded a fall in profitability compared with the comparable period of 2008. However, the credit crunch had still to bite in earnest by the half-year mark in 2008, so insurers will be hoping that their full-year 2009 results will show a big improvement.
