Keeling joins Guy Carpenter

Former XL Capital executive Henry Keeling is to join Guy Carpenter as president and chief executive officer of international operations from August 1, 2009. Mr Keeling will chair Guy Carpenter’s International Board and will be responsible for its operations in the UK, Continental Europe, Asia Pacific, Australia and Bermuda. Mr Keeling will also be responsible for all marine and energy, aviation and retrocession businesses globally. Guy Carpenter’s president and chief executive officer Peter Zaffino, said: “This appointment marks an unparalleled step in our company’s history towards growing our International Operations.” Mr Keeling was chief executive of XL Capital’s Global Reinsurance Operations from 1998 to 2005 and he was appointed chief operating officer in 2006 until 2008. Most recently, Mr Keeling was an operating partner at Stone Point Capital.
