Investment firm raises stake in Old Mutual to 5.0%
The Jersey based private investment firm, Cevian Capital has increased its shareholding in Old Mutual to 5.01% of the company’s
voting rights. The latter corresponds to 64,362,994 shares. At the beginning of June, Cevian Capital disclosed a shareholding
corresponding to 4.1% of the Old Mutual’s voting rights. Cevian Capital describes its investment strategy as acquiring significant
ownership positions in European public companies where long term value can be enhanced through active ownership. According
to a statement released by the firm, Cevian Capital manages funds in excess of $3.0bn for institutional and private clients
in Europe, North America and other regions.
