ADDITIONAL CLAUSES

6.1 INTRODUCTION

The parties to a ship sale contract may agree to modify or supplement the standard printed terms of the contract by amendments to specific provisions and through the use of additional clauses. Where the parties use a comprehensive format such as Saleform as the basis for a straightforward sale, often the amendments and supplements will be of limited extent. But more complex transactions may call for more extensive amendments and supplements. This chapter looks at some of the matters that may be covered by amendments and supplements.
