The Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 finally received Royal Assent on 13 May 2004. HMG intends to bring it into effect through a series of commencement orders. The ODPM has just published an indicative timetable setting out its plans for phased introduction. September 2004 sees the implementation of regional and local planning regulations, and development plans and control. Compulsory purchase changes come into effect at the end of October.
