Catlin enters into aviation underwriting deal

Catlin Group Limited, the Bermuda-based international property/casualty insurer and reinsurer, has agreed a deal with W Brown & Associates Insurance Services to underwrite general aviation insurance for US clients on behalf of Catlin US. California-based W Brown & Associates is one of the largest underwriting managers in the US specialising in aviation insurance. Under the deal with Catlin, W Brown & Associates will underwrite hull, liability, aircraft products liability, airport liability, ground-based-liability and non-owned aircraft liability for Catlin US. Catlin said the agreement was part of its strategy to increase volume in specialty classes of business. Catlin currently underwrites general aviation insurance from offices in the London market and other markets continental Europe, Guernsey, Canada, Asia and Australia. The agreement is effective April 1, 2009.
