Interamericana pays out for copper mine claim

The US$82.5mn payment is one of the largest in Chile’s history although part of the claim remains with MAPFRE

After nearly four years of negotiation, the Chilean arm of AIG, Interamericana, settled its share of the claim from the giant Collahuasi copper mine, majority controlled by Switzerland’s Xstrata and Anglo-American.
