ATLANTIC HIT FOR $40M DAMAGES BILL OVER TRUCK EXPLOSION
A federal court in Florida has ordered New York-headquartered Atlantic Insurance Co to pay $40.1m to five people who were
injured as the result of an explosion which destroyed a tanker truck carrying hazardous chemicals. A state court ruled three
years ago that the insured waste disposal company, Federal Environmental Services, was liable to pay damages, but the company
has since gone out of business.
