ABI PUBLISHES DRAFT GUIDANCE FOR LIFE AND DISABILITY INSURERS

The Association of British Insurers (ABI) has issued draft guidance aimed at ensuring that people with disabilities get fair and consistent treatment from life and disability insurers. It said that the guide consolidated insurers’ experience and best practices that had emerged in dealing with people with disabilities since the UK’s Disability Discrimination Act came into force in 1995. The ABI will be seeking comments on the draft guidance from interested parties including insurers, intermediaries, disability support groups and consumer groups.
