Escalation in ‘Ike’ claims

PartnerRe said the increases were primarily concentrated in the marine line of its global (non-US) specialty sub-segment

Bermuda-based reinsurer PartnerRe has increased its estimate of claims from hurricane Ike by $115mn to a total estimate of about $305mn, pre-tax and after reinstatement premiums, after the company received new information from clients reflecting larger losses than initial notifications.
