2008: a watershed year for insurance regulation?
To say that 2008 was an eventful year in financial services regulation would be an understatement. IR&A looks back at the events that hit the headlines and what this will mean for the future of insurance regulation
The year started out with a clear and calm plan. After several years of change and reform in the world of insurance regulation,

agendas for the past few years. It was also a key year in the development of the Solvency II project, which although some
years away from implementation promises to be the most significant Europe-wide reform of insurance regulation on record.
