Solvency group rules axed

A new version of the text omits EC’s group support proposals

The future for Solvency II is looking more uncertain by the day as the timetable for reaching political agreement on the text slips into 2009 and measures for the group support regime, which would allow parent companies to pledge group financial support to meet part of the solvency capital requirement of its subsidiaries, fall by the wayside.
