LACK OF RUSSIAN CROP LEGISLATION CREATING PROBLEMS
Rosgosstrakh vice-president Evegenii Dyakov said yesterday that the lack of legislation regulating the insurance of Russia’s crops was “making life difficult” for the country’s insurers and agricultural producers. Mr Dyakov noted that while leading insurers including Rosgosstrakh had established an insurance pool with a single set of rules for insurers engaged in crop insurance, the delay in the government passing a decree on the issue meant there was “a serious danger” that legislation would not be in place until after most crop-sowing was completed.
