Adverse possession

Ofulue and another v Bossert CA TLR 11 February

The defendant’s father had died in 1996. The defendant had taken actual possession of the property in 1987 and had an intention to do so. The claimants who owned the property had known since 1987 that the defendant was in possession, and the steps they had taken to remove her were slight in the extreme. The claimants contended that their right to property had been breached by the declaration of the Central London County Court on 28 October 2005, that their title to the property at 61 Coburn Road, Bow, London, was extinguished by adverse possession and ordered an amendment of the title to show the defendant, Erica Josephine Bossert, as the registered proprietor.
