HLB Kidsons (a firm) v Lloyds Underwriters (subscribing to Lloyds Policy No 621/PKID00101) and others [2007] EWHC 2699 QB (Comm)

The claimant firm of chartered accountants had not, by its communications with its insurers, correctly notified them as to the possibility of claims arising from advice given by its subsidiary company to clients, save as to two particular transactions. The scope of the notification was effective to cover all claims arising out of the procedural difficulties exemplified by the discounted option schemes in question, not just claims in respect of the two specific cases mentioned. The Court made the following costs orders:
