Litigation Letter

Manches LLP v Carl Freer [2006] EWHC 991 (QB)
Where a director of two companies had signed letters of engagement on behalf of the companies with the solicitors which purported
to make the director personally liable, there was no evidence that he had signed any document on his own behalf or that he
intended to bind himself to guarantee payment of sums owing by the companies to the solicitors. In the absence of any second
letter from the director personally, the solicitors’ claim failed.
