Litigation Letter
Collaboration
The Collaborative Family Law Group has teamed up with the Solicitors Family Law Association. Collaborative family law, which
was developed in the US and Canada, offers divorcing and separating couples a way to negotiate without going to court or mediation.
It is intended to be cheaper, faster and less acrimonious than going to court. Both parties retain specially trained lawyers
to work to achieve a settlement and agree to disqualify their collaborative lawyers from representing them in proceedings
if the collaborative process breaks down. The group is running more training courses in March next year.
