After-The-Event Insurance Premiums

By the time you read this the Court of Appeal may have delivered its judgment in Callery v Gray, which, at the time of writing, it has adjourned the hearing for further submissions from the parties by 21 June. However, the court (comprising the Lord Chief Justice, the Master of the Rolls and Lord Justice Brooke, with the Chief Costs Judge in attendance) announced its decision that after-the-event insurance premiums in personal injury cases are recoverable even when taken out before the commencement of proceedings.
