Wrong Measure
Crosse & Crosse v Lloyds Bank Plc (CA CLW 18 May)
The appellant solicitors had acted for the bank in respect of the purchase of a plot of land against which the bank had lent
money, but they had failed to disclose to their client information about two restrictive covenants to which the plot was subject.
The purchasers were unable to use the land for the purpose they had intended and it was sold at a substantial loss with the
result that the bank was unable to recover most of the money it had lent.
