Gillett v Holt and another (CA LSG 23 March)

The complainant spent his working life as farm manager and friend of the first defendant who had made repeated and completely unambiguous assurances over many years that the complainant would succeed to his farming business. Forty years after their first meeting the relationship broke down and the complainant sought equitable relief based on proprietary estoppel.
