OLAF workload grows as fraud levels says European Commission

The European Union’s (EU) anti-fraud agency OLAF says in its latest annual report that its caseload is still growing – it received 886 allegations of wrongdoing to probe in 2007, the highest ever, and up from 529 in 2002. Furthermore, the proportion of OLAF cases closed with a follow-up by judicial authorities has also increased, reaching 65%, compared with less than 45% before 2004 and 61% in 2006.
