A study by researchers from the University of Turin, Italy, have found evidence of the carcinogenicity of tremolite-free chrysotile (or white asbestos). Tremolite-free chrysotile is believed by some to be much less likely to induce mesothelioma. The study focused on a mine in Balangero, Italy, where chrysotile from the mine is considered to be tremolite-free.
