ASSITALIA TRANSFERS UK BUSINESS TO NEW OWNER GENERALI

The underwriting activities of the UK branch of Italian insurer Assitalia are to be integrated into those of new parent Generali. Assitalia changed hands when its owner, Italy’s INA group, was acquired by Generali late last year. The company noted that its UK underwriting activities would be combined with those of Generali Global’s London-based operations. It added that Assitalia’s non-treaty business previously written in London and Birmingham would be placed into run-off.
