19.3, airline grounded

Indonesia: Indonesian budget airline Adam Air was banned from flying on safety grounds. Indonesia’s chief of air transport said the decision was based on the results of a quarterly safety evaluation, which found violations that could put passengers’ safety at risk. The airline will be grounded until it is evaluated again in another three months. The decision came in the wake of its latest safety incident, which saw an Adam Air aircraft with 175 people on board skid off the runway in foul weather in Batam a week earlier.
