4.3, bad weather

Mexico: the government closed the country’s three main crude oil exporting ports for up to three days due to bad weather in the Gulf of Mexico. The Gulf ports of Dos Bocas, Cayo Arcas and Coatzacoalcos, which together ship around 80% of Mexico’s exported oil, were closed for three days, the transport ministry said in a statement. Cayo Arcas and Pajaritos were re-opened earlier. The smaller Pacific Coast oil port of Salina Cruz, which ships oil to Asian markets, was reopened after a one day closure. State oil monopoly Pemex said oil shipments should not be significantly disrupted as any tankers held at dock would be rescheduled to leave as soon as the ports reopen.
