Allianz premium growth outperforms German market
Premiums rose by 1.6% against a market rise of 0.2% • Generali profits up 21% • Lloyd’s positions for Polish licence
Preliminary 2007 figures for
Allianz Deutschland AG and its subsidiaries show that premium income grew by 1.6% to €26.1bn ($40.5bn), and that operating profit
grew by 13.9% to €2.2bn ($3.4bn). Chief executive Gerhard Rupprecht was proud of the fact that the company was able to grow
faster than the market (figures from the GDV insurers’ association suggested that the German market grew by 0.2% last year),
and increase profit significantly, while still restructuring.
