MERITANORDBANKEN TO BEGIN SELL NON-LIFE POLICIES IN SWEDEN
Nordic banking group MeritaNordbanken is to start selling non-life insurance in southern Sweden in July, expanding these operations throughout Sweden and Finland in 2001. MeritaNordbanken said that this would be the first of several insurance projects it would undertake following its merger with Denmark’s Unidanmark, the parent of insurer Tryg-Baltica. The banking group said that four non-life p/c products would be marketed in the Skane area through branch offices of Nordbanken, Unibank and Tryg-Baltica. New life products would be launched in Finland by the first half of 2001, becoming available to consumers in Sweden in the second half of the year.
