TURKISH INSURER EMEK HAYAT LAUNCHES INTERNET SALES

Turkish health insurer Emek Hayat Sigorta has started selling policies over the Internet, as part of its efforts to boost its direct sales. A senior company official said that Emek Hayat believed it was the first insurer in Turkey to launch such a web-based venture. “We are hoping that Internet sales will constitute a significant part of our overall sales from next year”, he added. The insurer’s web site also carries details on job opportunities and brokerage deals.
