MEGARUSS INSURES LAST OF CLUSTER TWO LAUNCH SERIES

Russian insurance group Megaruss has insured the launch of two Cluster 2s from Baikonur using a Soyuz rocket and Fregat booster for a total of $333.1m. The launch was the last in the Cluster 2 series for the European Space Agency performed by Starsem and the Russian Aerospace Agency. Megaruss insured the launch centre for $20m, pre-start preparations and the launch for $13.1m and third-party risks for $300m. The risks were reinsured on Russian and western markets, particularly through international brokers Heath Group and Marsh.
