On 14 February 1991 the Sanko Harvest ran aground off the port of Esperance in Western Australia. The vessel was a large bulk carrier carrying a cargo of phosphate from Florida to Australia. The vessel eventually broke up on the night of 17/18 February 1991. Both the vessel and its cargo were a total loss.
