Vessel lost at sea as result of improper stowage of grain cargo - Whether shipowners liable for loss of cargo - Whether charterers and stevedores liable for loss of vessel

The vessel Albatros was chartered orally for the carriage of corn and soyabean meal in bulk from Puerto Rico to Guadeloupe. Although designated for the shipment of grain in bulk, she was not equipped with shifting boards, lashing gear, or strapping materials to secure such cargo below deck.
