Time-charterers instruct Master to mark bills of lading so that freight was payable as per a particular voyage charterparty - Master enters date of different voyage charterparty on bill of lading - Shipper subsequently pays freight to wrong carrier - Freight irrecoverable by time-charterers - Whether shipowners liable to time-charterers for irrecoverable freight

In February 1988 Sucrimex sold 80,000 tonnes E.E.C. sugar f.o.b. to Anglo-Chemical. Anglo-Chemical sold the cargo to another company on C. & F. terms.
