by the sinking of the vessel
Mikhail Lermontov
on 16 February 1986 off Cape Jackson, New Zealand. The plaintiff was a passenger on the vessel which was owned by the defendant.
During the course of the trial the defendant formally admitted negligence and breach of contract.
