Vessel sinks two weeks after collision - Whether sinking caused by collision - “Novus actus interveniens”

The Normac was a floating restaurant moored in Toronto Harbour. On 2 June 1981 the vessel Trillium overshot her berth and struck Normac amidships. Two weeks later, on 16 June 1981, the Normac suddenly sank, less than two hours after the first sign of water was noticed on board, on the deck of the cargo room near the entrance to the engine room.
