Paros Shipping Corporation v. Nafta (G.B.) Ltd. (The Paros) - Q.B.D. (Com.Ct.) (Hobhouse J.) - 9 April 1987

Whether charterers obliged to indemnify shipowners in respect of cargo shortage claim by receivers brought in Greek courts

The plaintiff owners chartered their vessel Paros on the Asbatankvoy form to the defendant charterers. The charter provided that the master should sign bills of lading in the form appearing at the foot of the charter, viz. :
